The world is changing, thanks to women like you.

You want to build a successful business, but for you, it’s not just about tripling your income or your follower count.

It’s about embodying your truth, living your purpose, and connecting with people who just get you.

But you already know that having a vision and being able to articulate it are two very different things.

We know what it’s like to try to combine profitable practices with a meaningful vision, and we know the things you need to strike that balance between having a successful brand and staying true to your values.

At Herland, we use our business experience and design expertise to help women-owned businesses connect with thoughtful customers and create a cycle of abundance and purpose — that makes the world a better place.

As a values-driven branding and design studio...

I’m Halli Herzog, the founder of Herland.

I launched my first business when I was just 14, decorating backpacks and making earrings for my friends. It was an early lesson that, yes, creativity can pay off (literally).

I grew up in a football-first community around New Orleans that never felt like me. I was a feminist before I knew what that word was, and I was the girl telling little boys this or that wasn’t fair. It didn’t come as a surprise to anyone when I moved to New York right after high school. I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology—a dream come true—where I majored in textile and pattern design.

My years there were an endless parade of prints, patterns, color science, and one mood board after another. I learned the art and science of trend forecasting (that’s a real job!) and I loved every minute.

I didn’t realize it then but I was basically learning how to design brands.

On top of being at FIT, I was in the midst of my second business: acting. Everyone in New York seems to try it at one point or another, and while I loved it, I got burnt out. My third business was actually owned by my then-partner; she was a jewelry designer and I focused on the branding side of things. I figured out how to make a logo, launch our website, and tell our brand story.

After a cross-country move, a breakup, and a desk job at Stumptown Coffee in Portland (I still miss the coffee), I met my wife, Michelle. Throughout these years, I was learning how to create strategic brands on top of refining my graphic design skills. Michelle and I moved to San Diego, I left my 9-5, all while making Herland a reality.

Herland may be my fourth business, but it’s the first thing that felt undeniably right.

I get to combine fashion and design, trends and theory, and strategy and business to help my incredible clients build their dream lives—just like I’m building mine.

Let’s show the world what you’re made of.
